Dr. Dawn Anderson earned her Ph.D. in Mathematics Education from the University of Georgia along with additional degrees in Women's Studies and Qualitative Inquiry.
Dr. Dawn Anderson has 35 years of mathematics education experience in middle and secondary math education along with additional experience teaching at the undergraduate and graduate level in education (courses ranging from Multicultural Education, Mathematics Education, Mathematics, Women's Studies, and Organizational Behavior).
Dr. Dawn Anderson is state certified in Middle and Secondary Mathematics Education and Gifted Education in Virginia. Along with her mathematics education background, Dr. Anderson has participated as a faculty member on the Semester at Sea Program four times.
Dr. Dawn Anderson specializes in empowering students to improve their learning experiences in mathematics via a highly, individualized positive psychology approach with a focus on improving confidence and conceptual understanding. She tutors though all levels of middle and high school mathematics courses including AP Calculus and ACT/SAT/GRE math test preparation. Dr. Anderson is committed to the preparation of students to take upper level mathematics courses.
She also offers academic coaching services to help students develop organizational skills, study skills, time management skills, along with strategies for academic priority setting.
