Doorways open. New paths emerge. Transformation begins.
Dr. Dawn Anderson has been a wonderful math tutor for my 8th grade daughter. Dr. Anderson’s teaching keeps my daughter focused, motivated to complete her tasks and most importantly, eager to take on new challenges each week. Further, Dr. Anderson really worked with us on schedule flexibility as my daughter’s schedule kept changing! I highly recommend Dr. Anderson as a private tutor! I think she may have succeeded in getting my daughter to enjoy math!! ~Loring Woodriff Mathematics is a powerful language, a doorway to professional careers, and fundamental to critical thinking skills. I offer private math tutoring to students who need help opening the doorway to understanding math and experiencing success in math. When students receive tutoring, they report numerous benefits from this individual support: their confidence improves, understanding deepens, and motivation increases. Students struggling with math who receive additional support beyond the regular math classroom report their level of engagement with, understanding of, and connection with mathematics strongly improves.
I offer tutoring for all middle and high school math courses through AP Calculus, including college level calculus. I focus on helping students develop their mathematical understanding and improving their overall confidence.
Private, weekly, one-on-one sessions are the norm and best practice.
My tutoring practice also includes courses for homeschool students or students taking online math courses who are not in traditionally enrolled classrooms. I can serve as their primary math teacher. This option is a great resource for students who wish to take algebra 1, geometry, algebra 2, pre-calculus, or calculus and receive credit but bypass the traditional seat time and classroom. This option works well if a student wishes to do additional math courses over the summer or year. I’ve been offering that service for many years and numerous students find that is a game changer for them if the traditional classroom is not a good fit.
I also offer academic coaching services that help students develop organizational skills, study skills, time management skills, along with strategies for priority setting.
