Mathematics is a powerful language, a gateway to both professional careers and daily life, and a foundation for critical thinking skills. When my students receive tutoring, they report numerous benefits from the individualized support: their confidence improves, their understanding deepens and their motivation increases.

In my mindful mathematics tutoring practice, every student receives math instruction infused with academic coaching, executive functioning strategies, confidence building and focused learning. Private, weekly, one-on-one sessions are the norm and best practice. I also offer academic coaching services that help students develop organizational skills, study skills, time management skills and strategies for setting priorities. My goal is not simply to improve mathematical performance, but to cultivate independent thinkers who approach challenges with clarity, resilience, intellectual curiosity, and the confidence to succeed far beyond the mathematics classroom.

I look forward to hearing from you about how I can help expand the radius of your childs life with strong, mathematically-solid academic preparation.

Subject Tutoring

Grades 5 through College Calculus

For students who need help opening the door to understanding mathematics and experiencing success, I offer private math tutoring sessions, focused on helping students both develop their mathematical abilities and improve their overall confidence. Struggling students who receive additional support outside the classroom report that their level of engagement with, understanding of, and connection with mathematics strongly improves.

My tutoring practice also includes options for homeschool students or students taking online math courses who are not in traditionally enrolled classrooms. I can serve as their primary math teacher. This option is a great resource for students who wish to receive credit for Algebra 1, geometry, Algebra 2, pre-calculus or calculus but bypass the traditional classroom. This option works well if a student wishes to enroll in additional math courses over the summer or school year. Many students find this a game changer if the traditional classroom isn’t a good fit.

Our gifted and talented 13 year old loves math. Thanks to Covid he missed a chunk of 6th grade accelerated math and we were referred to Dawn to get him caught up. Our son fell in love with Dawn who knows how to make math fun. We’ve continued weekly tutoring sessions so he could go deeper into certain concepts. It’s been one of the best investments of money and time for his education (and I wish I’d had a Dawn when I was in school)!
